The class for this year’s WWE Hall of Fame continues to come along.
Rey Mysterio was announced as the first inductee into this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class during Friday’s episode of SmackDown. As noted, a big name is slated to induct the former WWE Champion. For more on that, click here.
Also, The Great Muta (Keiji Muto) is expected to be among the names inducted this year.
Pwinsider.com reported that WWE is “very close” to finalizing a deal with Stacy Keibler to induct her into the class. If done, she will be the first female member of the class to be revealed.
The two sides have been talking for a few weeks now, with one source stating the deal was “99% done,” while another source noted the deal was not done as of this past Friday but thinks the induction is likely to happen.
Keibler broke into the business as a part of the Nitro Girls in WCW before being used as the manager, Miss Hancock, where she was in an on-screen relationship with David Flair. After WWE purchased WCW, she joined the promotion in 2001, where she was used as a manager for names such as Dudley Boyz, Test, Scott Steiner, The Hurricane, Rosey, and others. She left WWE in 2006.
Hulk Hogan recently hinted at two names potentially being honored this year as well.
