Now that Kevin Owens has re-signed with WWE, fans are waiting to find out what Sami Zayn will do as his contract is set to expire in 2022.
Ringside News reports that they’ve been told that WWE writers were given the green light to pitch long-term ideas for Zayn.
Dave Meltzer reported last week in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Zayn has possibly re-signed based on locker room talk, but it has yet to be confirmed. With WWE having long-term plans for Zayn, then this could be a good indication that the rumors are true that he has also re-signed with the company.
Despite his contract status, WWE has been regularly using the former WWE NXT Champion on television. He recently earned a title match against Universal Champion Roman Reigns and has also been doing segments with Brock Lesnar on SmackDown as of late.
WWE also has a notable match lined up for him at the upcoming Day 1 pay-per-view event that has yet to be officially announced.
