Another WWE star hints that he is leaving soon

It was reported last month by Fightful that Johnny Gargano’s WWE contract is due to expire on December 3, 2021.

Gargano’s latest social media activity is fueling rumors that he is on his way out of the company. There’s no word on where he might go but All Elite Wrestling seems like a likely landing spot especially since he is close with everyone in The Elite and with many others in the company.

Sometime within the last few days, Gargano removed the “NXT on USA Network” references from his Twitter and Instagram bio. Everything else on his bio remains the same.

Unlike with Adam Cole and Pete Dunne’s contract situation, WWE had known for a while that Gargano’s deal was coming up later this year. Gargano has been in NXT since 2015 and officially signed a contract in 2016.

His situation is interesting because he’s been around for so many years and he’s 34 years old and the idea behind the new NXT 2.0 is to push younger wrestlers and to rely more on developing wrestlers from scratch. Gargano was not on the list of the names drafted to the main roster during the WWE Draft this past week.

Gargano is not the only WWE star who has a contract coming up. There are reports of at least two more names who could be leaving as well. Click here for more on that story.
