Another WWE star has signed a new contract to remain with the company.
Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that Jinder Mahal has signed a new deal that will keep him in WWE for at least another 5 years.
Majal joins Mojo Rawley, Mike Kanellis, Maria Kanellis, The Usos, and AJ Styles on the list of names that have signed long-term deals with the company in recent months.
WWE has been offering lucrative 5-year deals to keep wrestlers from going elsewhere. In the case of Mahal, it was probably a wise move to stay where he is because AEW only has a few slots available for top WWE talent and Mahal might not fit in with the hard-hitting style in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
Mahal is a former WWE Champion but has been slotted as a lower card wrestler since his 2017-2018 title reign. In recent weeks, he’s been part of the group of wrestlers chasing the WWE 24/7 Championship.
