Unlike how he handled the acquisition of the UFC and keeping Dana White in as UFC President, Ari Emanuel is taking a different approach with WWE and Vince McMahon.
Although McMahon and Emanuel publicly stated that Ari wanted McMahon to stay with WWE after Endeavor’s acquisition to merge with the UFC and create the TKO Holdings Group, that is happening, but with a twist.
As previously reported, McMahon is no longer involved in creative things. Talent believes that Triple H has been responsible for driving 99.9% of the creative moving forward. WWE sources have confirmed that McMahon is currently not involved creatively and Emanuel decided to have Triple H stay in charge of creative without influence from McMahon making last-minute changes.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Emanuel doesn’t want McMahon micro-managing things creatively.
Meltzer wrote, “One person close to the situation said that Emanuel has a vision for how he can use the worldwide notoriety of McMahon, and that vision doesn’t include him micro-managing the weekly television shows.”
Plans can change at any time, but this is the current direction after Endeavor executives reportedly knighted Triple H.
