Ashante “Thee” Adonis Confirms WWE Departure

Adonis, who had been absent from NXT television for several weeks, addressed his status in a heartfelt post, expressing gratitude for his time in the company and excitement for the next chapter of his career. It appears his contract was not renewed.

“After 6 unforgettable years under the WWE lights, the time has come for me to close that chapter. I’m filled with nothing but gratitude for every opportunity, the experiences, lessons, and incredible talent I’ve had the chance to work with,” he wrote. “I’m truly excited to show the world what I can really do. Sometimes you gotta get off multiplayer and progress your story mode.”

A New Chapter For Adonis

Adonis first made a name for himself in WWE as a member of the popular Hit Row faction, alongside Top Dolla, B-Fab, and Swerve Strickland. The group had runs in both NXT, where they held the NXT Tag Team Championship, and on the main roster as part of Friday Night SmackDown.

In his statement, Adonis made it clear that he is confident about his future in the professional wrestling industry, stating that fans have only seen a fraction of his true potential. He is now accepting independent bookings.

“I believe I’m the face of the future and the reason your girl stopped texting you back,” he wrote. “This is a brand new beginning. I am becoming the best version of myself. You have only seen a glimpse of my true potential, and im just scratching the surface. I know that to some this can be a dark time, but stars can’t shine without darkness.”

Adonis’s departure marks the end of his time in the WWE system. Now a free agent, the 32-year-old is looking ahead to the next chapter of his career and showing the world what he can do on his own terms. Promoters interested in booking Adonis can now contact him via the email address provided in his social media announcement.
