After many weeks of being kept off television and relegated to working dark matches before the live broadcast, Asuka returned to WWE Smackdown Live to help out Naomi.
Naomi was able to defeat Peyton Royce but both Royce and Billie Kay attacked her after the match. The IIconics harped on the fact that no one has come out to help Naomi but that changed this week when Asuka evened the odds.
Asuka hasn’t been featured much on television since late July when she dropped the Smackdown Women’s Championship to Carmella. Her momentum began to stall after her streak was broken by Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania. Hopefully, this is the start of a renewed push for her because she is one of the most talented people on the main roster.
Earlier today, Naomi was teasing that she might bring back former Funkadactyls partner Cameron as her back up but Asuka seems like a better choice.
