Over this past weekend, Asuka yet again won a first-ever match for the women of WWE. As if winning the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match in January wasn’t enough, the Japanese star also emerged victorious in the first-ever Women’s Tables Ladders and Chairs match. Asuka defeated Charlotte Flair and defending champion Becky Lynch to win the SmackDown Live Women’s Title.
The bout main evented the TLC pay-per-view, and rightfully so, as it was an extraordinary performance by all three competitors. Asuka was recently interviewed by Tokyo Sports to discuss her victory at TLC. During their conversation, “The Empress Of Tomorrow” revealed an interaction she had with WWE CEO Vince McMahon after the conclusion of the bout. Vince hugged Asuka and told her that he enjoyed the match. He also said he was happy for the former NXT Women’s Champion.
Now having finally captured a title on WWE’s main roster, Asuka is looking forward to checking another WWE milestone off her list. That being defending her title at WrestleMania:
“I would like to have a title match at WrestleMania,” Asuka said.
