Dominik Mysterio is dealing with a legitimate injury following his appearance at a major event in Mexico this past weekend. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer provided an update on Mysterio’s status after the Judgment Day member was hurt at AAA Guerra de Titanes. Meltzer noted that the specific nature of the injury is still being determined.
“He was hurting today, and he’s going to get examined,” Meltzer said. “Normally, you would go to TV and get examined. There’s no TV until a week from Monday. I was told he’s getting examined at some point this week, probably by a doctor there to see what’s wrong with his shoulder. It’s premature to say anything as far as the severity of it, but shoulder injuries are very common, and it’s probably not a good thing. It could be Penta who’s touch and go. Seth needed surgery. Hopefully, he doesn’t need surgery right now, because that would put him out for months. Right now, we don’t know.”
Mysterio reportedly suffered the shoulder injury while competing in the main event of the AAA show in Guadalajara, Mexico. He teamed with El Grande Americano against Rey Fenix and his father, Rey Mysterio. According to reports, the injury occurred in the closing moments when Dominik took a DDT from his father. He appeared unable to use his arm as he exited the ring following the match.
The finish of the bout saw interference from Penta, who used a weapon hidden in his mask to headbutt Dominik. This allowed Rey Mysterio to hit the 619 and pin his son for the victory. After the bell, a frustrated Dominik shoved El Grande Americano and walked to the back alone, favoring his injured arm.
WWE is currently in a brief lull regarding television production due to the holidays, with the next episode of Monday Night Raw scheduled for December 29 at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. That show will serve as the final Raw of 2025.
