Backstage News On Future Of El Grande Americano Character

Chad Gable is reportedly nearing a return to WWE action after being sidelined with an injury since mid-2025. According to a report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, Gable is getting closer to a return to the ring and is currently planned to be in Saudi Arabia for Royal Rumble week.

Gable has been out of action since sustaining an injury on June 30, 2025, which forced him to relinquish his role in a prominent storyline. Despite Gable’s impending return, sources indicate that WWE creative has no intention of reverting recent changes to his former character.

The report states that there is “no immediate plan” to move Ludwig Kaiser away from the “El Grande Americano” gimmick. Kaiser took over the masked luchador persona following Gable’s injury and has been portraying the character ever since.

The report also provided insight into the future of Gable’s former allies, Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne. There are reportedly no immediate plans to move Bate and Dunne from their respective roles as “Bravo Americano” and “Rayo Americano.” The duo has been serving as decoys and enforcers within the stable, and it appears they will continue in these capacities for the foreseeable future.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful notes that creative discussions have already taken place regarding how to reintroduce Gable into the mix. Specifically, there have been talks about “how to integrate Chad Gable and possibly the Creeds into the angle” involving the Americano faction.
