Backstage News On How TNA Talent Get Paid For WWE NXT Appearances

With TNA wrestlers frequently appearing on WWE NXT programming, questions have arisen regarding the payment structure for these crossover appearances. This includes talent recently released by WWE who are now competing in TNA. Concerns and speculation have surfaced about WWE potentially utilizing these wrestlers at a reduced rate compared to their previous contracts.

A report from Fightful Select has shed light on how these payments are handled for TNA talent appearing on NXT. According to the report, TNA wrestlers are indeed compensated for their appearances, with the pay scale varying based on their role on the show.

Fightful Select was told “that the talent that appear are paid for the appearance, and it goes up based on what they do”. The lowest payment tier is simply for appearing, even if the talent is brought in but not used on the broadcast. The pay increases if the talent competes in a match.

Furthermore, “If you end up in the main event, that’s a higher amount,” the report detailed. As an example, the TNA wrestlers involved in the main event of the recent NXT Showdown event received a higher payout than other TNA talent who appeared earlier on the card.

Conversely, the report noted a difference for NXT talent appearing on TNA programming. “There have been a number of NXT talent who tell us they were not paid additionally to appear on TNA,” Fightful Select reported, though they added the caveat, “However, we can’t guarantee that’s the case across the board”.
