Backstage News On LA Knight’s WWE Absence

For fans concerned about the status of LA Knight, there is a positive update. According to a report from PWInsider, the injury that wrote the former United States Champion off television is “100% a work” and part of an ongoing storyline.

Bronson Reed viciously attacked Knight on the June 20 episode of SmackDown. Reed delivered multiple Tsunami splashes to Knight, and WWE later announced on Raw that he had suffered “separated rib cartilage and a bruised sternum.”

The storyline injury comes amidst reports of growing support within WWE for Knight to join the Raw roster following several guest appearances permanently. While there are currently no firm plans for a brand switch, this feud with Raw’s Bronson Reed could be a catalyst.

The angle also has the support of WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash, who has recently called for Knight to have a world title run. With Reed being a key member of the new heel faction led by Seth Rollins, it remains to be seen if Knight’s feud will end with Reed or escalate to involve the Money in the Bank briefcase holder.
