Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s influence in WWE now extends to its new documentary series. According to a report from Post Wrestling, Johnson’s team provided notes and feedback on the upcoming Netflix docuseries, ‘WWE: Unreal’, for the episodes in which he appears.
The five-part series, a co-production from Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions and NFL Films, is set to premiere on July 29 and has been compared to HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ for its promised behind-the-scenes access. The Rock is reportedly featured in Episode 4, which covers John Cena’s heel turn at Elimination Chamber and The New Day’s heel turn.
According to the report, Johnson’s team had input on how these segments were presented, ensuring his portrayal met their standards. WWE President Nick Khan and producer Brian Gewirtz also appear in this episode. While Paul “Triple H” Levesque is a central figure and narrator for the series, the report of The Rock’s involvement highlights his significant sway within the company’s projects.
The series will also cover the WWE Raw premiere on Netflix, the Royal Rumble, and WrestleMania 41. A second season is reportedly already in production for a 2026 release with five episodes.
