As WWE moves away from SummerSlam and directs its attention to Bash in Berlin later this month, the company is starting to begin new feuds with different talent.
Fans have been wondering where AJ Styles has been, as he’s been absent from television since putting over Rhodes at the Clash at the Castle event in June. Since then, Styles has worked a Pro Wrestling NOAH and three house shows last month as part of WWE’s Japan tour.
PWInsider.com first reported that Styles was scheduled to be at this past Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown. However, he didn’t make his TV return.
Now, PWInsider reports that Styles was initially planned for the show but wasn’t brought in. WWE decided it wasn’t right to bring him in for a return to TV. However, WWE still plans to bring him back to TV shortly, ahead of the WWE Bash in Berlin at the end of this month.
