With the removal of Paul Heyman as the Executive Director of Raw, there’s been speculation as to what this means for certain talents that were being pushed under his reign.
Fortunately for Asuka, she has nothing to worry about regarding her push as the Raw Women’s Champion. Asuka was considered among several stars who were seen as Heyman’s projects on Raw.
WrestleTalk reports that Asuka won’t be impacted by Heyman’s removal as WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon is still high on her. Per the report, McMahon in addition to other top WWE officials are high on Asuka because they see her a top player in the WWE women’s division.
Asuka has been part of two different feuds with Nia Jax and Charlotte Flair. She’s recently worked with both stars as she defended the title twice this week against Jax – Backlash and Monday’s episode of Raw. On the flip side, she worked Flair in back-to-back weeks on Raw.
Dave Meltzer reported last week that Flair is next in line for a program with Asuka for the championship. For more on that, click here.
Heyman was replaced by Bruce Prichard, who is now in charge of both Raw and SmackDown. Of course, McMahon still has the final say on the product presented on both shows.
