Backstage News On Canceled WWE NXT Show

PWInsider.com reports that the WWE NXT television event scheduled for Tampa, Florida, next week was recently canceled due to concerns over low ticket sales and the potential impact on the show’s broadcast atmosphere. The decision was made with the television presentation in mind.

While a number of tickets had been sold for the event at Tampa’s Yuengling Center, the sales were reportedly not meeting expectations for the larger venue. According to the report, WWE officials felt that “the show would come across stronger in terms of atmosphere on television from the WWE Performance Center.”

This was especially the case since the Performance Center, NXT’s home base, was very close to the Tampa arena. The feeling within WWE was that having a smaller crowd in a large arena might look underwhelming on TV.

By moving the taping back to the more intimate and controlled setting of the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, the company could ensure a more energetic and visually appealing broadcast for WWE fans watching at home.
