IYO SKY (Io Shirai), Bayley, and Dakota Kai returned to WWE programming in a statement move made by Triple H this past Saturday at SummerSlam by introducing the new faction.

As previously reported, this faction was pitched quite a while before Kai’s release, but Vince McMahon, who was still in charge of creative, turned down the idea.

Kai stated on Wednesday’s episode of WWE’s The Bump that her return happened at the last minute.

PWinsider.com reported today that although Bayley had been expected to be at SummerSlam before Triple H took over as head of creative, there were no concrete plans for her to appear on the show.

The report also added, "Kai's deal to return was put together quickly but at the last minute.” Kai didn’t travel to Nashville until the night before, and she was hidden from everyone backstage inside a bus.

This report would indicate the plan to form this group happened after Triple H took over as head of creative on July 25.

WWE filed a trademark for Io Shirai’s new name on August 31st, the day after her return, which is unusual as WWE routinely files trademarks for new ring names before the wrestler appears on television.
