Jacob Fatu has officially made his WWE debut, and he did so in a big way, as he is the latest member of the Bloodline. He made the save for Solo Sikoa on Friday’s episode of SmackDown. He laid out the likes of Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens before hitting a splash off the top rope to send Rhodes through the announce table.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that Fatu had been signed to WWE for months and was backstage at WrestleMania and around WrestleMania weekend. It’s still unclear why it took him so long to make his debut.
It was noted that MLW sources had previously indicated Fatu had never wrestled outside of the US due to his criminal record when he was younger. Still, it never prevented him from getting dates in the US. It’s unclear how this will impact his WWE booking, as WWE is holding more international events than ever, especially in the spring and summer.
His history was a primary reason he’d not been hired, but they were told that WWE’s newer regime has long been interested in Fatu. It was added that “Fatu made immediate good impressions within WWE and had a very respectful approach to everyone backstage.”
