John Cena made his WWE TV return this past Monday Night Raw on Raw to set up his match with United States Champion Austin Theory at WrestleMania Goes Hollywood.
They traded words where Cena noted that the crowd doesn’t care to see Theory wrestle and how Theory will lose regardless of whether or not he can win at WrestleMania because he will have to deal with critical fans.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported today that “Those that we spoke to within WWE were happy with how WWE Raw unfolded with John Cena adding some familiar eyes to the show.”
It should be noted that there was no producer listed for the segment on internal sheets, leading to speculation among fans that Cena may have had more control over how the segment went down, although that is not confirmed.
The ratings for the show increased as Raw drew in an average of 1.827 million viewers with a 0.52 rating in the key 18-49 demographic.
