Some people were shocked when Neville seemed to hit the cutting room floor during 205 Live’s opening video package. After all, he walked out before Raw on October 9th and it took two weeks for him to finally disappear from television.
After all, it doesn’t take two weeks to remove someone from a video package. With today’s technology that time has been cut down to around ten to fifteen seconds if the right editor is at the helm. Bryan Alvarez opened up about this on Wrestling Observer Live.
“What I was told was — and this was two weeks ago, initially I was told [Neville] was probably going to be out of the video package tomorrow and he wasn’t so the word was whether he’s in or not is however Vince [McMahon] is feeling about his future at the time. So my guess is that him being out of the video package is a very good indication that Vince is not expecting the guy to come back. And the guy doesn’t wanna come back. We’ll see how it goes.”
It might have been a sad moment when fans of Neville discovered that he was no longer in the 205 Live opening video package. But truth be told, he’ll be doing just fine as soon as Vince McMahon releases him from his WWE contract. After all, his name (which is soon going to be “Pac”) still has a ton of real estate value in the world’s indie wrestling scene. If anything, people will always call him Neville but promote him as Pac. Either way, Neville/Pac will be just fine.
