As seen at the WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, Roman Reigns retained the Universal Championship against Jey Uso. Reigns did it as he was choking out Jimmy Uso and Jey was forced to say “I Quit” so Reigns could let go of his brother.
WrestlingNews.co first reported several weeks ago that there was talk in creative about Reigns forming a stable with The Usos. The idea is that Jey and Jimmy will fall in line and do what Reigns says because he is the head of the family. We were also told that this will play out with The Usos being reluctant at first but eventually being completely on board with Reigns as the weeks pass.
All of this is meant to elevate Reigns to make him a Superstar on the level of names like The Rock and John Cena. The storyline was also designed to help elevate Jimmy and Jey with plans for them to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles in the near future.
Jimmy and Jey will probably not win the titles until early 2021 because Jimmy is not cleared yet to wrestle but is expected to be ready for full-time in-ring action in a couple of months.
