PWInsider posted an update on the “rumors of Ronda Rousey making the rounds” (first reported by Fightful).
PWI stated that at least one WWE official flew to California last week to meet with Rousey and that Rousey’s makeup artist and stylist, Abraham Esparza, is set to be at the pay-per-view and at Raw this Monday. Reportedly, this has been in the plans for weeks and weeks.
It was also stated that sources who are aware of the Royal Rumble plans stated that “it’s all on Rousey” as to whether or not she pulls the trigger on her return but WWE is ready for it and they want her for WrestleMania.
Rousey has not appeared on WWE television since WrestleMania 35 in 2019. Last year, WWE President Nick Khan indicated that Rousey would return to the company and there were rumors at various times during the year that she could be back but she was also pregnant last year so if there were plans in place, they would have been put on hold.
If Rousey is added to the main event mix at WrestleMania, that would give WWE a boost needed at a time when they have roster depth issues.
