Fightful Select reports R-Truth is back with WWE after WWE informed him that he wouldn’t have his contract renewed.
His appearance at WWE Money in the Bank by attacking John Cena, followed a week after he announced his “release,” which WWE clarified was a contract expiration. Sources close to Ron “R-Truth” Killings confirmed he signed a new deal.
During the week R-Truth was “gone,” wrestling companies and promoters tried to book him. Many talent confirmed speaking with R-Truth, stating the situation was not a work. They reported “many tears” over his departure and that Killings seemed “shocked and kind of disgusted.”
One talent noted Truth was “cut in a very cold and impersonal way” by a talent relations employee, not “top brass.” Killings reportedly ignored WWE’s initial attempts to reach him until Nick Khan called to work out a new “meeting halfway” deal.
A veteran talent said, “Ronnie wouldn’t do that. If he had to maintain a work like that, he’d just ask us not to say anything. He would never lie to us about that.” In response to Triple H claiming it was a work, multiple talents and Truth’s son, Christopher Killings, publicly stated otherwise.
One veteran remarked, “I can tell Hunter doesn’t like it. He doesn’t like the fans hijacking creative.” The mood shifted to excitement with Truth’s return, with PWinsider.com reporting the deal finalized in the 72 hours prior.
