WWE had to make big changes to its original plans for Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler at WrestleMania 39 after Rousey was sidelined with an arm injury.
They were slated to win the Women’s Tag Team titles at the show. Instead, they worked the four-way tag team match at WrestleMania, with Rousey being protected and limited in the match.
Last week on Monday Night Raw, Liv Morgan, and Raquel Rodriguez beat Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, which led to Stratus turning heel by attacking Lynch.
On Friday’s SmackDown, a celebration segment for Morgan and Raquel led to Sonya Deville and Chelsea Green coming out, setting up their feud. After taking some insults, he champions attackedthe challengers, leading to a brawl.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Rousey is still dealing with the injury and has yet to be medically cleared.
“Well, you know the deal is their….Ronda Rousey is still not cleared, so they can’t do the Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler thing, which was the plan,” Meltzer stated.
