WWE announced today that the planned match between Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins has been pulled from the SummerSlam card due to Riddle suffering a stinger as a result of an attack from Rollins on Monday’s episode of Raw.
Fightful Select reports the injury is kayfabe and Riddle is fine. WWE reportedly has plans to do the match down the line with the working plan for it to be held at Clash at the Castle on September 3rd. Keep in mind that plans change all the time in WWE.
Those Fightful spoke with stated the reason the match was pushed back is due to “creative adjustments.” Rollins is still slated to travel to Nashville for Summerslam weekend as he has media obligations scheduled for Friday.
Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match will headline Saturday’s premium live event from Nissan Stadium.
As of this writing, there are eight matches confirmed for the show, although WWE could add more matches on Friday’s SmackDown.
