Riddick Moss made his return to WWE TV on Friday Night SmackDown during Baron Corbin’s new “Happy Talk” show segment.
Kevin Owens came out for the segment but was attacked by Moss, which marked the start of the alliance between Baron Corbin and Moss.
Moss had been out of action since the fall of 2020 with an ACL tear although he had been backstage in recent weeks while waiting to make his return. His last televised match came in September 2020 against Erik of the Viking Raiders on Monday Night Raw.
Fightful Select reported today that Moss got a look during a dark match in Knoxville last week, and had already been assigned to the SmackDown brand by then. This was despite him being drafted to Raw last year.
Fightful reached out to the company as to why he was moved to a different brand and was told that because he never appeared after last year’s Draft and there’s another Draft next week, they felt there was no harm in getting the ball rolling on Moss with Corbin.
When Paul Heyman was still overseeing the Raw brand, he reportedly saw big things in the future for Moss.
