People are still talking about TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace showing up on Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT.
It was announced that Grace would challenge NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez for her title at the June 9th NXT Battleground PLE. Grace is slated to wrestle Stevie Turner in a singles match on next week’s episode of NXT.
However, fans should expect to see more crossover, as it was reported that Grace’s appearance at the PLE will not be the only WWE-TNA collaboration in the days ahead due to the belief that there will be some sort of NXT representation at future TNA events and programming.
Fightful Select reports the rundowns featured Lita and Alexa Bliss as placeholders for Grace’s appearance, as WWE has been more secretive lately with the rundowns. NXT talent was surprised that Jordynne would be wrestling on NXT next week. Perez insisted on not knowing who her opponent would be, as she wanted to be surprised by who the opponent would be to get a genuine reaction.
The agreement is for three appearances with Grace, who is believed to be making at least six figures for the appearances. Andrea Concepcion and Johnny Russo were responsible for the segment. She was hidden ahead of time as she and Ethan Page waited at Cezar Bononi’s house before the rehearsal.
Fightful noted the door is very open for more NXT crossover with TNA. Despite Scott D’Amore’s TNA departure, the lines of communication have remained open since the Royal Rumble, when Grace, who remains under a TNA contract for at least the next year-plus, made a surprise entry in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
