We noted earlier this week that Vice President of Global Television Production Michael Mansury is gone from WWE as he departed last week after letting WWE know of his plans several months ago.
Mansury was seen as a big part of the Triple H regime. Mike Johnson of PWinsider.com reported at the time that “some in the company had dubbed him unofficially as the “next” Kevin Dunn, as in the idea was that he would one day fill Dunn’s role down the line.”
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that everyone that is seen as a potential successor to Dunn “has their life made difficult and they get constantly criticized to Vince McMahon, who would then hear people talk negatively about the person in the spot.”
Mansury had also reportedly gotten impatient regarding upward mobility. He had been with the company since March 2009 when he started as a Production Assistant.
One person in WWE said they were shocked at the departure because some believed he was a WWE lifer and that he was well-liked among people in the company.
Another person compared Mansury’s plight with David Sahadi, a wrestling producer who is working for Impact Wrestling right now.
