It looks like Sasha Banks will be pushed as one of the top female Superstars in WWE and the worked shoot promo that kicked off Monday Night Raw is an indication that they are behind her.
“I’ve heard since the show aired that Paul Heyman wrote this promo and has been very involved in Sasha’s presentation,” Wade Keller said on his PWTorch.com audio show on Tuesday.
Instead of running away from the story about her walking out at WrestleMania 35, the decision was made to embrace what happened and use it in her storyline while changing some things in order to make her out to be a heel.
It’s an interesting approach because Vince McMahon hasn’t always been willing to push wrestlers who walked out on him in the past. There have been some exceptions to the rule but in the past, wrestlers would have been punished for being “unprofessional” and they wouldn’t be used in a main event spot, at least not right away.
Now with Heyman as the Executive Director of the brand, Banks has a chance to be a bigger star than she was before she walked away.
