Backstage News On Why Bron Breakker Didn’t Win Intercontinental Title At WWE Money In The Bank

WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker took place at the WWE Money in the Bank 2024 Premium Live Event with an interesting finish that caught some fans by surprise. Zayn retained the title after kicking Bron in the face when he attempted a spear and hit the helluva kick for the win.

This was the biggest match of Breakker’s young career on the main roster in WWE.This also marked the first time that the former NXT Champion had a chance to challenge for gold on the main roster as a member of the Raw brand.

Heading into the bout, many people thought it was time for Bron to win the intercontinental Title. Since then, WWE has continued the feud and included  Ilja Dragunov, making fans think WWE may book a triple threat at SummerSlam.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that, as of earlier this week, it was still scheduled as a singles rematch.

Meltzer wrote, “It would be a surprise for them to beat Breakker twice in a row. So it at least would feel like Breakker is the favorite to win, and the reason he lost first was so his title win would be on a higher profile show.”
