As many of you saw on this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, MVP was back on the show to host a VIP Lounge segment with Drew McIntyre as his special guest.
It was a surprise to some since he said that his match with Rey Mysterio from a couple of weeks ago was his last one in WWE. However, he did say in an interview that he was interested in taking on a backstage role with the company.
PWInsider noted that the talk backstage at Raw over the last several weeks has been that there was consideration being given to bringing MVP back as a Producer for the company. There was more talk of that last night at Raw.
There’s no word on if he has signed a contract but if things work out as he would like, then he will be working a role similar to names like Shane Helms, Sonjay Dutt and others.
When Jeff Jarrett was brought back, they had him do some on-camera work before he made his full-time transition into a Producer. That appears to be what is happening with MVP.
MVP has plenty of friends in the company including the likes of Paul Heyman, Rey Mysterio, Shane Helms and others so it’s not a surprise to see him doing more with WWE these days.
