Prior to the WWE Draft, there were plans for Bray Wyatt to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship.
As part of those plans, the Wobbly Walrus character was introduced in the FireFly Fun House as a parody of Paul Heyman. That character only lasted a week and there has been no mention of it since that time on WWE TV.
Ringside News reported this week that the Wobbly Walrus character was nixed specifically because plans changed and the decision was made to drop the Reigns-Wyatt storyline.
It was noted in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Wyatt was moved to Raw so they could keep him away from Reigns and there are forces behind the scenes who are working to protect Reigns from bad booking. The feeling was that booking him with Wyatt would have done Reigns no favors.
As we noted here several weeks ago, Reigns’ stable is expected to grow with Jimmy Uso eventually joining his brother Jey. We were told that someone else will join Jimmy and Jey at some point. It makes sense to keep Wyatt away from Reigns since his character does not fit in with the Tribal Chief story being told.
