William Regal returned to WWE on January 4 in a Vice President position after asking AEW/ROH President Tony Khan to be let out of his deal with the promotion early so he could return to WWE to work with Triple H again and to be in NXT with his son, who wrestles as Charles Dempsey.
Before going to AEW, he had been Triple H’s right-hand man in NXT. With Triple H taking over main roster creative, “The Game” wanted to bring back a man that he has a ton of respect for and helped build NXT with.
Pwinsider.com reported some details on what Regal is doing in WWE as the Vice President of Global Talent Development.
Regal attends weekly Raw and SmackDown events where he takes notes on all the matches at the shows and meets with the wrestlers after the bouts to give them advice about ways they can make their matches “look stronger and more realistic from an in-ring perspective, including notes and suggestions on how talents can improve their selling, physicality during locking up and reversals, etc.”
It was said that Regal is more or less giving advice on how they can improve the finer points of matches so everyone can look stronger while wrestling.
