Backstage news on WrestleMania plans for John Cena

The speculation on John Cena's WrestleMania match has continued over the last few days on social media. Just to be clear, as first reported in the recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the rumors of a John Cena vs. AJ Styles match at WrestleMania match are incorrect.

The only thing that is known is that Cena's match will be bigger than the WWE Championship. I'll let you draw your own conclusions but we were told that The Undertaker is moving around much better than he was last year and he was seen in the gym this past week.

Also, it would be tough for Taker to pass up a huge Mania payday. The Undertaker is said to be making over $1 million every year for his WrestleMania match. Taker might be well off financially but, as noted this week on Wrestling Observer Radio, he was not in the best financial shape just a couple of years ago so that might have played a factor in his decision to keep wrestling when people figured that he would have retired years ago. Both Cena and Taker have wanted this Mania match for years so this might be the year to do it, especially since the door is closing on both of their careers.

For what it's worth, John Cena is not featured on the Royal Rumble ads. I'm not sure if that means that he won't be on the show or they need to update their ads. Either way, we should know what Cena's Mania match will be at the Raw 25th anniversary show.
