Backstage news on WWE’s plans to negotiate new deals with NXT call-ups

A couple of times a year WWE will call up NXT stars to the main roster and place them on either Raw or SmackDown.

Typically, when that happens then WWE will offer new deals to those stars, which is usually for money since the talent would be responsible for travel expenses among other reasons.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has an update on a report from last week about how WWE officials had been talking with several of the NXT stars that have been called up regarding new deals.

WWE officials had told the wrestlers when they were brought up that the times were uncertain and eventually they’d negotiate new main roster deals. The money of those deals wasn’t quite up there with what a lot of wrestlers were being offered to re-sign last year.

Wrestlers have now been told that WWE is open to re-negotiating after WrestleMania season next year.

It’s been recently reported that despite the budget cuts that had been done, WWE does plan to start running shows again with fans. In fact, they have tentative plans to leave the ThunderDome in favor of hosting events at outdoor venues as soon as November.
