Backstage News On The Status Of Absent WWE Star

An update has been provided on the status of WWE superstar Apollo Crews, who has been on the injured list since suffering a torn pectoral muscle earlier this year. According to a new report, Crews is still recovering but is said to be doing well.

Crews Still Listed As Injured

During a recent Fightful Select Q&A podcast, it was confirmed that Crews is still listed as injured internally within WWE. He is reportedly “doing well in rehab and continuing his recovery” following the surgery he underwent in February. There is currently no official timetable for his return to the ring.

A Long Road To Recovery

The injury occurred during Crews’ match against Johnny Gargano on the January 24 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. A torn pectoral muscle typically requires a lengthy recovery period, often sidelining athletes for several months. When he first announced the injury, Crews remained positive, stating, “sometimes, you do everything right, but there are just some things beyond your control,” and promised to tackle his rehab with an “unstoppable mindset.”

Crews’ absence has been felt on the SmackDown brand, which has seen a major influx of talent in the tag team division in recent months. The brand currently features new champions in The Wyatt Sicks, as well as rising teams like Andrade & Rey Fenix and Fraxiom. A healthy Apollo Crews would add another dynamic competitor to the mix upon his eventual return.
