Backstage News On Trick Williams’ Scary Spot In WWE NXT Match

Trick Williams took a nasty shot to the head on an attempted spear during his Last Man Standing main event match with Ricky Saints on WWE NXT this week.

The Scary Incident

Midway through Tuesday’s main event, Saints moved out of the way as Williams came charging toward him. This caused Williams to crash through the barricade at ringside. While the barricade appeared to have been gimmicked, the guardrail behind it was not. Williams’ head could be seen smashing into a beam of the guardrail, prompting a referee to immediately check on him.

Bryan Alvarez provided an update on the situation to his subscribers on X, detailing the moment. “Trick busted his head wide open when he went through the barricade and accidentally hit his head on a metal beam. Ref asked if he was OK and Trick said yes, at which point the ref asked, ‘ARE YOU SURE?’”

Match Result And A Former Champion’s Return

Despite the injury, the match continued. Ricky Saints later won the Last Man Standing match to retain his NXT Championship after spearing Williams off the barricade and through the announce table. Saints was able to get to his feet, but as Williams made it to his knees, Saints shoved him back down, allowing the referee to complete the 10-count.

As Saints was recuperating in the ring, he was confronted by the returning former NXT Champion Oba Femi. Femi, who lost the title to Saints at the No Mercy Premium Live Event, appeared on the ramp. The show went off the air before Femi could make his full entrance, leaving WWE fans to wonder what is next for the NXT Championship.
