Backstage News On WWE’s Plans For Women’s Tag Team Title Match At WrestleMania

The WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 42 is set to be a fatal four-way contest featuring The Irresistible Forces defending against Charlexa, The Bella Twins, and the newly added team of Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, according to Bodyslam.

The development comes after Bayley and Valkyria defeated The Kabuki Warriors on Raw and immediately called out The Irresistible Forces for a title shot, with the match being made official for Madison Square Garden the following week.

Nia Jax and Lash Legend captured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships on February 27 when they defeated Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky. Since winning the titles, The Irresistible Forces have successfully retained against Charlexa and The Bella Twins, though both of those defenses came via disqualification rather than pinfall or submission, leaving both challengers with unfinished business heading into WrestleMania.

The ongoing crossover between the title picture and SmackDown continues this week, where Charlexa will take on The Bella Twins on Friday’s show after both teams found themselves involved in each other’s business with The Irresistible Forces over the past two weeks.

The fatal four-way format gives each team a path to the championships while also avoiding any team taking a direct loss ahead of the show of shows. WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. WWE has not officially announced the fatal four-way match at this time. Here is the current card:

* Undisputed WWE Championship Match: Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton
* World Heavyweight Championship Match: CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns
* WWE Women’s Championship Match: Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley
* Women’s World Championship Match: Stephanie Vaquer vs. Liv Morgan
* WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match: AJ Lee vs. Becky Lynch.
* Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi.
