Backstage Reaction To Hulk Hogan’s Viral WWE Raw Appearance

Hulk Hogan’s appearance on WWE Raw this week went viral as the fans in attendance heavily booed him to the point that various outlets picked up the moment.

Hogan was on Raw to hype the show and promote his Real American Beer, which is one of WWE’s new sponsors. As previously noted by WrestleVotes, fans may not see him as often on television going forward.

Fightful Select reports that Hogan had been slated to make several future appearances before the segment. The report noted, “Many we talked to in the company weren’t happy that was a common talking point emerging from such an important night for WWE. There were specifically a number of people that told us they brought up the possibility that he would get booed.”

WWE kept his appearance limited due to his physical condition, and that’s why he was positioned at the entrance ramp. Those backstage said Hogan was “surprised and disappointed” that he got booed but was brushing it off.

The report added that a “source said that they believed WWE would probably consider the context in which Hogan is used moving forward, and said that many knew the reaction was a possibility.” One idea mentioned by someone in the company is that WWE could use a more modern WWE talent or legend to help endorse the product.
