Ruby Riott and Buddy Murphy were just some of the news to be released by WWE today.
Fightful Select reports Riott’s release definitely seemed to shake the WWE roster the most as she was universally popular backstage, and commended for her hard work often.
Regarding Murphy, it was said that he was not in the “creative forecast for WWE” of late. Before Wesley Blake got released, there were pitches for Murphy to team with Blake again, but the idea was shot down.
It was added that Murphy was said to be easy to work with, and generally receptive to creative.
Riott signed with WWE in 2016 and had a successful run in NXT before going to the main roster and creating the Riott Squad. On the flip side, Murphy signed with WWE in 2013 and held the Raw and NXT Tag Team Championships as well as the Cruiserweight.
