Backstage reaction to WWE PPV schedule for 2022

WWE announced their tentative 2022 PPV schedule today. There were some notable changes to the schedule as WrestleMania 38 will indeed take place over the course of two nights, SummerSlam being moved up from August to late July, WWE holding a PPV event on Labor Day weekend, and more. It should be noted that AEW historically holds All Out on this same weekend.

Fightful Select reached out to over a dozen wrestlers within the company to get their reaction. Those wrestlers spoke favorably of the moves. WrestleMania being held over the course of two nights has been a popular move by wrestlers since the company started to do so as it eases the schedule for media and the weekend itself.

WWE’s decision to do more Saturday shows during football season also was seen as a positive one especially with the SmackDown talent.

Regarding the September show, it is slated to be the UK PPV. Also, WWE is planning to return to Saudi Arabia in February and October.
