As previously noted, there are four WWE Superstars who are not flying to Saudi Arabia for the Super ShowDown event on June 7.
As noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, they have different reasons for not going.
Company sources told Dave Meltzer that Owens was asked by his family not to go to Saudi Arabia. Others have said that there are a number of reasons why he is not going. It’s worth noting that Sami Zayn is not going and did not go last year because the Saudis hate Syrians so that may have played a part in Owens not going.
Aleister Black is not going but it was not his decision. It was decided that he should not go because he has tattoos that are of a religious nature.
Daniel Bryan did not go to Crown Jewel and that was a decision he made after he went to the first show in 2018. He has chosen not to go to Saudi Arabia on June 7.
As of this writing, it does not look like anyone else will pull out of the show. One of the big matches being hyped for the show is a 50-man battle royal and they are hyping it as being equivalent or better than WrestleMania. That sounds like something they have to say as part of their agreement with the Saudi government.
