Bad Bunny had plans to step back into the wrestling ring for the lead role in the upcoming film “El Muerto.” However, the Grammy Award-Winning Musician, who has wrestled a few times in WWE, won’t be going forward with the project.
The El Muerto character from the Marvel Universe that debuted in the sixth issue of the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man comic series. The charcher originally fought Spider-Man in a charity wrestling match in which he nearly unmasked Spider-Man before being stung by Spider-Man with a paralyzing poison. They later teamed up to defeat Dorado.
While speaking to Vanity Fair, he was asked what had happened with the project. This is where his publicist noted he’s no longer attached to the project that is currently not in the works after Sony removed the film from its planned release schedule this past June.
The article noted that there was an awkward silence before he said that the situation was “delicate.” His publicist stated, “Obviously, it’s out.”
The movie was slated to be released on January 12th, 2024, the sixth standalone film in the Sony Spider-Man Universe. It’s unclear when the movie will come out.
