If you are wondering why Daniel Bryan didn’t wrestle on last night’s Raw it’s because he is said to be hurting again, according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer radio. “Daniel Bryan is not doing well.” He added, “they’re protecting him a lot right now.” We also got a report on Saturday from a fan that attended the show in Nottingham that Bryan did not take a single bump in his match. He teamed with Dolph Ziggler and Erick Rowan to face Sheamus and Bad News Barrett. Bryan has been protected in all of his matches on the European tour.
Bryan did wrestle after Raw but he was protected. He was in a six-man tag that took place after the Raw taping. He teamed with Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler to defeat Luke Harper, Big Show, and Sheamus. Bryan did not take a single bump in that match either.
Daniel Bryan noted in interviews after he returned in January that he underwent a unique type of rehab on his neck last year. This has been compared to Kurt Angle’s neck fusion surgery from 2003. It allowed Angle to return sooner than expected from his neck injury but he would continue to have recurring neck issues. Edge also had neck fusion surgery and continued to have neck issues and would later admit that he should have gotten traditional surgery.
