WWE Superstar Baron Corbin recently appeared on Endeavour Audio’s After The Bell with Corey Graves. The SmackDown Superstar discussed a ton of topics on the show, including his transition from football to pro wrestling. During the podcast Corbin would reveal a humorous story from his tryout back in FCW.
“hey, do you think you could do like a drop down and leap frog?'”
“I mean, it was funny because you say that I’m athlete, that quote got me in trouble actually on my tryout” Baron Corbin began. “It’s a funny story. It’s like my second day on a tryout, they brought me in for like a week long tryout. There were guys like Bray Wyatt in the ring and stuff like that and he’s [Dr Tom Pritchard] like, ‘hey, do you think you could do like a drop down and leap frog?’ And I was like ‘Well yeah, I’m an athlete like it’s easy'”
“Then I clip my foot and face planted” – Baron Corbin
Baron Corbin elaborated further, saying “he had somebody start running and I’m doing drop downs and leapfrogs. And after about 10 of them I’m like looking over between each one, like ‘you gonna tell me to stop?’ I was also 325-330 pounds on my tryout I’m at like 14 going ‘this is bad.’ This I regret. Then I clip my foot and face planted. He’s laughing, saying \I thought you said you were an athlete?’ like I just did 18 drop downs, 18 leapfrogs! I was blown sky high, so it’s always funny when I think about that but no walking in the door was, it was eye opening.”
