Baron Corbin’s WWE Release Appears To Have Been A Late Decision

Last week, Baron Corbin was among the names to depart from WWE as WWE opted to not renew his deal. Indie Hartwell and Tegan Nox were released from their deals.

Over the weekend, Corbin responded to an Instagram fan who argued that WWE ‘fumbled’ him. Corbin agreed with the sentiment, which comes after he had been with the company for a decade.

After a successful NXT run, Corbin was called up to the main roster in 2016. Throughout his WWE career, he found further success and was consistently booked under Vince McMahon.

Corbin went to NXT in 2023, where he had undergone a few different character changes, including a one-week return of the Lone Wolf. He was called up to the main roster earlier this year, although the company didn’t do much with him there.

Fightful Select reports that several WWE stars from Raw and SmackDown were at a Netflix commercial and video shoot on October 27. Those in attendance included Corbin, IYO SKY, Kairi Sane, Motor City Machine Guns, Elektra Lopez, and LWO members.

With Corbin being at the shoot, it would seem to be a situation where WWE hadn’t planned well in advance to part ways.
