Batista announces retirement from pro wrestling

Following WrestleMania 35, Dave Bautista announced on Twitter his retirement from professional wrestling.

The Guardian of the Galaxy star made the announcement after his loss to Triple H in a No Holds Barred match. Given that he has said in interviews that he only wanted one final match at WrestleMania announcement, the retirement is not a surprise.

Batista was signed to a developmental deal with WWE in 2000 and made his television debut on SmackDown as Deacon Batista, the henchman for Reverend D’Von.

He eventually branched out as a singles star after a run with Evolution and a feud with Triple H.

He is a six-time World Champion.
