Batista is hoping to go into the WWE Hall of Fame after initially slated to go in 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic put an end to those plans.
The 2020 ceremony was canceled following the start of the pandemic. WWE held the 2020 and 2021 Hall of Fame classes together for a ceremony without live fans in attendance inside the Thunderdome.
Batista wasn’t able to take part in the ceremony because of previous obligations. He requested WWE induct him at a future ceremony so he could properly thank the fans and those who helped him out throughout his career.
While at the premiere of his new movie, “Knock at the Cabin.” the former WWE Champion told ComicBook.com that he hopes to be inducted this year.
“I hope so, but I can’t say for sure,” Batista said. “I can say that I’m trying. I am trying.”
Bautista requested to put over Triple H in his retirement bout at WrestleMania 35 in 2019 out of respect for him, especially for everything that he has done in Batista’s career.
