Former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista recently did an interview with Flickering Myth to talk about his film career. Batista is currently a part of Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy franchise, which has seen a tremendous amount of success.
It turns out that Batista was turned down by another major film franchise – Star Wars. Batista divulged that he auditioned for a couple of Star Wars movies, but was turned down each time and never got the parts:
“I’ve actually auditioned for a couple of Star Wars [movies] and they’ve turned me down. It was always a dream of mine to be in a Star Wars film.”
When it comes to the latter installments of the franchise, Batista doesn’t seem to be too big of a fan of the films. This is a sentiment shared by many hardcore Star Wars fans as well:
“I can’t say I’m the biggest fan of the latest installments,” said the actor. “I particularly loved Rogue One. I thought it was a really great film and I love that they went a little bit dark with it. I thought it was really interesting.”
