Bayley and Sasha Banks made history on WWE Monday Night Raw

Monday’s episode of Raw was a big night for Sasha Banks as she was able to win the WWE Raw Women’s Title.

She did so when she beat Asuka for it from Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center on the USA Network. The finish saw SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley attack Kairi Sane in the backstage area.

As a result, Asuka decided to walk out of the match to save her friend. Due to the stipulation to go along with the contest, Asuka lost the championship by count-out and Banks was awarded the title.

Now, Bayley and Banks hold two titles in addition to the Women’s Tag Team Champions.

WWE’s stats and info Twitter account noted that Bayley and Banks are now the 5th duo in WWE history to hold singles titles while being Tag Team Champions.

Other teams who have done the same thing include Triple H and Steve Austin, Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels, Owen Hart and British Bulldog, and Ken Shamrock and Big Bossman. You can see the tweet here:

“Her win on #WWERaw confirms it – @SashaBanksWWE joins @itsBayleyWWE as the first female Superstar duo (and 5th pair overall) to join this exclusive list in the @WWE history books.”
